Roads and conditions
Main routes along the coast and to Podgorica are in good condition, while mountain roads can be narrow and winding — take your time and enjoy the views.
Speed limits are 50 km/h in towns, 80 km/h on open roads and up to 100 km/h where signed; headlights must be on at all times.
Tolls and parking
The only toll is the Sozina tunnel between Podgorica and the coast, paid in cash or by card at the booth.
In towns like Budva and Kotor, use marked parking zones in summer; spaces fill quickly, so arrive early or park slightly outside the centre.
Crossing into Albania or Croatia
Cross-border trips are possible with prior approval and a Green Card — just let us know when you book and we will prepare the paperwork.
Carry your passport, licence and rental documents, and allow extra time at the border during the summer season.
